About The Inspector

My name is Tom Richard. As a third generation home builder I have been crawling around houses with my father and grandfather from the age of 5. Starting out as a "nail picker upper" and working my way up to floor sweeper, laborer, apprentice carpenter, carpenter, superintendent and finally owner. I am more than familiar with all aspects of home construction. Now at the age of 49 I have decided to go in a different but familiar path and start doing home inspections. I would love the opportunity to use my extensive knowledge of construction to help you in your home buying process.

My Goal

It is critical to choose the right inspector for one of the most important emotional decisions and financial investments that you will ever make. Inspect 4 u 2 is dedicated to educating people about their homes. I am all about useful information and I do my best to communicate in a way that you will understand and with the intention of helping you make better decisions. I also understand about money and endeavor to offer economical solutions to the problems we find. I agree to follow NAHI Standards & Practice and Code of Ethics.

What To Expect

A home cannot fail an inspection. A professional home inspection gives you an independent, unbiased view of any problems and their solutions, so that you will have all the facts you need to make a sound, informed decision. You will gain insight into maintenance and energy conservation tips to your home. Depending on the size and condition of the home, a thorough home inspection should take no more than a couple of hours. You are encouraged to accompany your inspector during the inspection, so that you will have visual reinforcement of your written report. In addition, all of my clients are offered a free telephone consultation after the inspection and we’ll come back for a re- inspection if needed.
